Use the Source Home page to select the Oracle home you want to clone. This page by default, lists all the existing clonable Oracle homes for all products.
With Enterprise Manager, you can clone an Oracle home to one or more destination hosts. After you have an Oracle home in a known state (for example, you have chosen particular install options for it, applied required patches to it, and tested the products in it), you may want to clone that Oracle home to one or more hosts.
This application can clone any Oracle home that Enterprise Manager recognizes as a clonable home. See About Cloning for a list of clonable homes for this release of Enterprise Manager.
On this page, you can select the required Source Type. You can either search for installed Oracle homes or the Oracle homes that have been packaged into the Software Library (using the Linux Provisioning application.) See About Components, and Configuring the Software Library for more information.
See Cloning Oracle Homes From Software Library for more information on the Software Library source type.
You can further refine your search by selecting the appropriate parameter (such as a host, target, platform, Oracle product, and so on) for the search.
For example, select Location from the Search list, and specify the appropriate Oracle home location to search for all the Hosts that have the specified home. Or, select Host Name from the list, and specify the required Host name to view details of that Host.
Select the required installation instance of the product that you want to clone and click Next to go the Source Settings page.
Note: If you have selected an Application Server Oracle home from the Software Library, you will be taken directly to the Product Settings page. In the case of database homes, the Product Settings page will be displayed only if you selected the Source is Clustered option in the Source Settings page.
See Oracle Enterprise Manager Concepts Guide for more information on Cloning.
