On the Warning Alerts page, you can:
View all the warning alerts associated with all the targets you manage within Enterprise Manager.
Acknowledge an alert, thus indicating that an administrator has looked at the alert. Acknowledging an alert stops all further notifications for the alert and also stops repeat e-mail notifications, if enabled.
Clear an alert, thus removing it from the list of warning alerts.
Access status, availability, and overview information about the target by clicking the name of the target. This displays the target's home page.
Access metric detail information about the metric causing the alert by clicking the message associated with the target. This displays the Metric Detail page for the metric causing the alert. On the Metric Detail page, you can log annotations about the metric and view any related notifications that were sent.
For example, if the message for a database states that "71% of dump area is used", clicking the message identifies that the metric (Dump Area Used (%)) is causing the problem. You can then remedy the problem by increasing the dump area or purging the existing area.
Note: The message is very specific to the metric. Therefore, the messages that are shown for each metric state the problem but not necessarily the solution. The recommendation depends on the metric in question.
Deal with these warning alerts in a timely manner.
You can automate responses to alerts by using the Response Action feature available on the Edit Thresholds page.
To acknowledge an alert, select one or more alerts and click Acknowledge. Once an alert is acknowledged, the Select checkbox is disabled. The Select checkbox for the alert will also be disabled if you do not have at least OPER privilege on that target.
To clear an alert, select one or more alerts and click Clear Alert. As with acknowledging an alert, you must also have at least OPER privilege on the target to perform this operation.
